A downloadable game for Windows

So what is Catharsis? It's Final Fantasy meets Inside Out. Instead of dungeons based on elements like fire and water, dungeons in Catharsis (really, mental prisons you've locked away your emotions in) are controlled by base emotions like anger and sadness.

The emotions and prisons you come across at first are simple and straightforward, then become more complex as the game progresses. So far you'll find five emotions in the game (anger, disgust, surprise, anticipation, fear) with two more (sadness and joy) in development right now.

Between each mental prison, short interludes will help you discover the reason you've become disconnected from your emotions. (TW: loss/death)

Oh, the battle system. So it plays just like an old RPG: you have basic attacks and spells, as well as attributes like health, mp, attack, defense, etc... You'll level up from defeating the lesser emotions you find in each prison and find new equipment that will help you cope, too.

To pause the game, you can right-click anywhere outside of combat, and that's where you'll find the save menu. I RECOMMEND SAVING EVERY THREE-TO-FOUR MINUTES, AND ESPECIALLY BEFORE BOSS BATTLES. The game will eventually have an auto-save feature at the start of each new level, but for now you'll have to save manually and often. Don't be afraid to use a few save slots if you want to see how different decisions pan out!
